Land ceiling act

My Company wants to purchase some vacant lands which is not coming under the MMDA limits. The lands are now agricultural lands.

Is there any limit for holding vacant lands by companies in Tamil Nadu.

Please clarify.

The Tamil Nadu Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act. 1978 was repealed by the Tamil Nadu Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Repeal Act, 1999 (Tamil Nadu Act 20/1999) with effect from 16.6.1999. An extent of 1266.68 Hectares of land which were at various stages of acquisition as on the date of repeal of the Act have been released to the Urban Land Owners. The repeal Act does not affect the lands which were already acquired and possession have been taken over by the Government as on the date of repeal, and land exempted under section 21(1) of the Principal Act.
