Raj Kumar Makkad (Adv P & H High Court Chandigarh)     18 December 2009

Kolkata High Court sponsoring Love Jihad, Pedophilia & Conve

In a strange order a division bench supported religious conversion to Islam of a 15 year child and ‘marriage’ of this young Hindu girl to an elder Muslim man. In most civilized society the man would have been punished with 7-10 years jail and even death at many western nations! In India age of marriage for Muslim women is 15 and others 18 minimum but convcersion by consent of a non-Muslim to Islam can happen only when he/she is adult or atleast 18 years old. Also, latest order of Supreme Court has said that Indian women of any faith can marry if their minimum age is 16 which reduced the age by 2 years for others from 18 and increased by 1 year from 15 for Muslims but, this order has violated all these norms and even the girl’s father a Hindu Congress leader failed to protect her child.

Allowing Conversion to Islam simply for the sake of marriage is a bit strange and disturbing to judicial conscience.

Who is the judge who delivered this order.. his credentials in backdrop of his religious beleifs should be investigated.  I suspect boiling of some rot in the pot rather legal ignorance on part of the judge.  The order is blatant.

Dear all: who we are to deliberate on this subject here in this column? Is any one there to file a PIL in the Apex Court against the Kolkata High Court Bench against its judgement  if so sensitive or are we only paper tigers or only to preach others?

Sorry for the intervention.

Raj,

I am amused with the objective of starting this post by you.  Instead of deliberating on the pleadings and law of the subject case you are only trying to sensationalize an issue on the basis of half baked facts.  Admittedly you do have some political affiliation - so does this implies that by way of this post - an exercise to settle score is going on.

It's high time that you should mend your ways.  I hope if in case the Administrator is monitoring this thread things will definately reach at a "LOGICAL CONCLUSION" this time.

Best Regards

Daksh

Raj,

You yourself take contradictory stands in your different post as in the other thread you yourself have depicted the Courts being "Courts are well within their jurisdiction to act as keepers of a society's conscience. " For this reason we should and must abstain from sensationalizing the issue and rather rationalize them logically on the basis of  peculiar facts of each and every case at hand by engrossing the totality of the subject matter.

Regards

Daksh
