Kindney transplanation problem

A old man age of 65years of age , his kidney are damaged and he is on bed under dialysis, his wife (aged about 61years) is interested to donate her one kidney to him. But the Hospital authority want marriage registration certificate of them, but they have no such certificate and as they are from Assam , in Assam marriage registration is not compulsory one and they also get married 40 years back. So, as the Old man is in Coimbatore who is under treatment and its not possible to get register his marriage and no such time also in hand as because as per Hindu / Special marriage act one month notice is necessary before get it register. So, what will be the legal provision for them. & What should they do now as the hospital authority unnecessary showing there rigidity in genuine case. regards

One thing i didn't understand in these doctor's behaviours is...

What does a Marriege Certificate has to do with a Kidney Doner ? I mean, anyone can Donate a Kidney to anyone if the matching is Perfect.

Moreover, it's a regular Practice of Assam's Doctor or Nurshing homes to ask for a police Report before they try to treat an Accident Victim or such. For the knowledge of all, the SC of India recently passed an order saying that any such Victim has to be treated First.... Police Reports or such thing can be followed up if required later......

The wife can ask the hospital authority what other evidence is acceptable to them e.g.

Voter card/passport copy/DL  of wife in which husband's name is recorded, bank pass book of joint a/c on which photo of couple is affixed and attested by bank manager, or an area councilor’s certificate or an affidavit, or police verification report or the statement of the children etc.

It is well known fact that 40 years back marriages were not registered, and this is even today. What should be done by a critically sick patient, wait and keep on bearing the hospital bill...........
