Dear all,
Kindly help me in this...
Is there any Pecuniary Jurisidiction available to file the consumer cases? As far as I know there is territorial jurisdiction viz district level (in each district), state level and at national level.
Can't we file a case for defective goods worth Rs. 25 lakhs in a district forum coz the district forums's pecuniary jurisdiction is less than Rs. 25 lakhs?
Kindly enlighten me.

The pecuniary jurisdiction of district forum is upto 20 lakh rupees. When it is more than 20 lakhs then upto 1 crore the pecuniary jurisdiction is with the State commission and above 1 crore the complaint is to be directly filed in the national commission.
