No registration is not  mandatory for any types of "will"

Koumarish Bhattacharya (Advocate)     12 August 2010

A will, whether joint or not is not mandatorily registrable.

No registration of will is not necessary.  Even unregd., and regd., will can be challenged

N. T. NIRALE (ADVOCATE)     13 August 2010

Registration of will is not coompulsory for any kind of will.

It may be adviceable to register the will related to non-movable property.

While registration of will is not compulsory by law it is beneficial as it creates a  record with the registering authority which comes handy if the original Will is misplaced or lost.
