There is 1.86 acre of agricultural land at Dharmapuri, Tamil nadu state out of which we have possession certificate for 1 acre of land from VAO and patta is joint patta where my father's name and other person name is appearing. Other person is not cooperating for seperation of patta.
How can we seperate this patta into individual patta for my father's name?
Pls let me know legal procedure for the same.

File a suit before concerned Tehsildar with relevant records.

First you submit an application before the concerned revenue department to issue you an individual patta to your property alone on the basis of documentary evidences to prove that the one acre land is separated from the joint land if there's no proper response from the department then you can approach court with a suit for mandatory injunction seeking direction to concerned authorities to issue an individual patta to your land.

You have a possession certificate for 1 acre of land out of 1.86 cents. Is there any title document for it? VAO is not competent to issue a patta. The VAO shall submit a detailed report to the Tahsildar regarding the land, and then the Tahsildar will verify and issue the patta if it is found correct.

How these persons in possession? Have they perfected their title? If so, how? If not, who is having titole to the land?
