Is there any lower and upper age limit to recruit contract workers

Is there any upper and lower age limits to recruit a contract worker according to contract labours (regulations and abolition)act 1970, please answer

The lower age limit is 18 years and the upper age limit is 42 years.

In AP regularisation of contract wokers act 2023, there is a point saying , "Notwithstanding anything contained in any law for the time being in force, the regularization shall be with prospective effect only i.e., with effect from the date of issue of orders of regularization under this Act The period rendered on contract basis shall not be counted for any service benefits. " So this act is prospective in nature means the current age limit 18-42 will apply , if they want to check that initial appointment compliance age limit then they should consider 18-42 right , not at the time of appointment because the act is prospective and the previous service is not counted and they start from 2023 . Am i right or wrong please Reply

The act is having prospective effect for the purpose recognition of employment in the confirmation cadre, hence it will not impact the contractual employee's age limit for fresh recruitment considering the service already rendered as contractual employee.

Tye actual problem is , a person joined as contract employee in 2007 and at tgat time his age is 39 , now in 2023 ap regularisation of contract workers act came , which has a point saying it is prospective effect only , if they say at the time that person initial appointment 2007, the age limit is 34 only , ap state government increased upper age limit from 34 to 42 in 2017 , the regularisation is happening after the upgradation of age to 42 , so they can halt the regularisation process of his for the reason that in 2007 upper age limit is 34, because regularisation is happening in 2023 and it has prospective effect and they will start from the date of issuance of this act so , point is the initial appointment should compliance with the post's age limit in 2023 not at that time of appointment, is this correct or not please reply

The AP Regulation mentioned therein your question /answer do not apply in the case(s) / employer or employee already in employment.
