Is it always police's fault ?

each time police refuse to take a case, we say police is not working properly. this may be a possibility. but there is another possibility that may be the case is false. police understood it and refuse to take.   polices are trained to file case. they might know which case is real and which is false and accordingly took the real case and refuse to take false cases.have we ever consider this possibility?

In cognizable offences police have no discreation except to register and investigate.

Dear Arnab,

In my humble opinion the Police should take all cases that come to them, even if they think the case may be false.

After taking down the complaint the Police can investigate it & if the same is found to have no merit, the Police can mention the same in its investigation report & close the investigation.

This way both sides of the story gets documented & if the Police were wrong or biased they can be held accountable by the courts.

Warm Regards,

P.S: I’m not a lawyer, please keep that in mind.
