Section 417 of IPC provides the punishment for cheating,i.e., whoever cheats shall be punished with imprisonment of either descripttion for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine, or with both. While Section 420 deals with the offence which is committed by the person who cheats another person and thereby induces the deceived to deliver any property.
