IPC 177– Furnishing false information.

Hello everyone,

In my case wife has filed for maintenance and claims that my father is working and hence she is a sole dependent. My father retired 12 yrs ago and has been at home since then. During the period that wife was at matrimonial home my father was completly at home with us as well. She knows this very well, but has tried to pull a fast one.

Can I use IPC 177 in this case as I have a proof of his retirement dated in 1999, besides a whole set of people in our apartment who know he is at home all the time.

If you have any case examples of above, please fo forward them.

Thanks.

This may not strictly come under 'false information' .............. but a merely baseless allegation and facts.

First demolish her main allegation ...... and that she doesn't need maint at all in the first place... if you have material evidence.
