INFORMATION SYSTEM SECURITY

To day  (November 30th) is  World Computer Security Day.  Since 1988 this day is celeberated worldwide as Computer Security day.

Computer Security or I.T. Security or  I.S. Security or Information Security (or what-ever-other-name-by which-you-may-call-it )- this  is an important and burning issue both in our personal life and official life.

At personal level, we have to protect the information assets of not only ours but also our close relatives/friends. It may be the  Personal Computer, Laptop, Communication equipments, Software, Data file etc., or  Personal Information  like our Mail id, user id/ log in ID, Credit/Debit Card, Password, PIN etc., from loss or theft or misuse.

As  officials/professionals working in the Information Technology Department of an organisation, we have to take necessary and sufficent steps to protect the information assets as part of our work.

The enormous trust placed on us  by a large number of people  (customers,  staff, superiors, regulators etc.,)  is to be reassured.

On this day, we may rededicate ourselves to understand  and implement the Information Systems Security Policy/Procedure/Guidelines of our Organisation  as applicable to our individual work area / vertical.

Information Security is  Everyone's Responsibility -  Be a Human Firewall
