indian contract act

is it still applicable to whole of India except state of J & K?

Quick Summary
The Indian Contract Act of 1872 remains applicable throughout India. Following the abrogation of Article 370, central laws, including the Indian Contract Act, were extended to the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. This clarification addresses queries about the Act's current territorial scope and potential outdated provisions.

Hi,

With the abrogation of Article 370, a number of central laws were effective in Jammu and Kashmir. Central laws now made applicable to the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, and Union Territory of Ladakh also include the Indian Contract Act 1872.

I hope this helps you.

Regards,
