how to defend a fake case on 420

My friend went for the purpose of bridegroom ceremony then he rejected the bridegroom.post after this ceremony the bridegroom family immediately filed a fake case allegating that they had given Rs. 400000 as a dowry and he cheated them as per 420.however they are not having any proofs of evidence.

The prosecution, certainly, would have a different version. What matters is the contents of the Charge Report, not the subjective opinion of the accused and/or his well-wishers.
