How February month salary is calculated

Hello, I have joined a hospital at 40000/- per month on 11th February of this month (2015). I have got 24000/- salary. And they have calculated total salary divided by 30 days , instead of 28 days. Is this right? Can anyone please explain me how February months salary should be calculated?

If you are appointed at monthly wages then per day wage is:

Monthly wages/26

accordingly wages for no. of days can be calculated.
