dowry is to be condemned , but a thief will definitely give some excuses for his deeds.

dowry is evil practice, lets start an all india campaign to eradicate it from 2011. all marriages without affidavit of no dowry be declared illegal.

It will right step, there must be declaration before marriage from all party.

There is a possibility that false  affidavits would be written. Dowry would still be taken and given for the reasons well known to us. Only thing when problems would arise, the girl would be in trouble because there is already a declaration that dowry has not been given and taken...

there is a provision in law , but no one is following it . no official lists of gifts are made and later on there are claims and counter-claims. in absence of any such document girl side is unable to prove gifts and istridhan given at time of marriage.

before marriage, everyone should give affadavit of not taking or giving dowry. If we make it as a strict practice, atleast after sometime it will yeild positie results.

 "Prevention is Better than Cure".  why should one give or take dowry (when there is good relationship), later file criminal/dowry cases (once the relationship is bad)

if they make false affidavits then they have no right to claim also. if girl is so heavy a bojh on them in 2010 why dont they go to a well and jump into it. they treat girl child like cows. gender equality should apply in girls parents home too.

s*x ratio for marriageable age girls is 800:1000 , if still they have to marry girls with dowry they ( girls parents) are only to be blamed.they are in hurry to marry off girl without making her self-sufficient as if they have to get rid of some scrap. not only greedy boys side is responsible girls' side also responsible for it.

a large scale social reform is needed in india SAY no to Dowry 2011. do marriages in court and register. those demanding dowry shud be straight said no.

there was a recent case of a girl exposing dowry demand on camera , is she still unmarried. she got a very good proposal next day and got married to that guy.

there are so many factors associated with dowry, within caste marriage is also one of them.

they cannot marry outside biradari because they will loose honour in their bIRADARI.

IN some castes heavy dowry is a must and tradition of within caste marriage is responsible for it.

we need VERY LARGE SCALE REFORM. will NCW listen to us.

will they spend some budget on it or just spend it on their travel and other fake expenses.

In govt. jobs they do such declaration not only of dowry but bigamy also and if found guilty of then they may loose job.

Recently a muslim wanted to go for second marriage, then her first wife give an application to the appointing authority, and the emplyee get cautioned that, if u go for 2nd marriage u will ahve to lose the job. Thus his 2nd marriage got prevented.
