We are manufacturers of Computer chairs.
We have clealy mentioned in our quotation, that components made of plastics are not covered under warranty / guarantee.
One of the college authorities, who had bought 300 Nos. chairs, were facing unfortunate problem of the Legs which are made of Plastic, breaking and though those breakages were not convered under warranty we have been replacing that particular legs and out of 300 there is a failure of arould 20 Legs breakge which were since replaced The Guarantee period is 2 Years. It is now about to complete the warranty period in two weeks time.
Now the college authorites, have filed a complaint in the consumer forum and asking for replacement of NEW CHAIRS , just for breakage of Plastic Legs.
1.Is the College authorities can file a case with Consumer forum ? Are they are " consumer " ?
2.The Jurisdiction is mentioned as Bangalore in our Invoice. Can they file a case where the supplies were made ?
In our quotation, we have given option of Metal Legs, instead of plastic legs,
Kindly enlighten our stand in this issue.
