Dear Legal Eagles

In the proposed amendments to the more than 60 yeras old Factories Act-1948, the gender bias which exist earlier has now been blown away. The Act is soon going to become highly gender neutralized by allowing women workers/employees to work in factories between 7 p.m and 6 a.m The responsibility of taking care of safe transportation of women workers is left to the employer.

Thank you for the information. Pl state whether the amendments are passed by the Houses of

Parliament, Presidents' approval is received and notified by the appropriate Government in the

Official gazette.  If so what is the date on which the amendments have become effective ?

Some amendments in the Industrial Disputes Act 1947 passed in 1981 are not given effect. Hence the above doubt.
