I paid Rs 16 lakh to a person 4 years ago for appointment to an unsubsidized school but that person kept all the money without going to school, and now I am asking for a refund, he is avoiding it, I transferred the money to him online Here is how I can get my money back

1. Filing Civil Suit for Recovery of your Money is now barred by limitation period of Three years.

2. However you may still file Police FIR for offences like Cheating, Intimidation, Fraud, Breach of Trust, etc....

What were you doing for the last 4 years ? Now it is barred by limitation.

Limitation shall affect criminal complaint as well.

You can file recovery in civil suit also if whatsapp message is within 3 years. 16 is a very big amount.

If the borrower has admitted his liability, limitation starts afresh from that date  then you can issue legal notice for refund within a specified time and file a suit for recovery.

It would be advisable to contact, consult and engage a local prudent lawyer for professional guidance and necessary proceeding.
