Filing of chargesheet

Dear Members,

IO has said that he will submit chargesheet soon in a criminal case. He has told us that he has given it to the circle office Law officer to check chargesheet and then he will submit it.

Want to know whether the chargesheet is filed by the IO himself or does it go from the circle office law officer directly to Court. What is the procedure for filing of chargesheet in court. Kindly let us know as the filing of chargesheet has taken more than a year and we are tense.

Chargesheet is a formal document of accusation prepared by law-enforcement agencies in India means I.O.
