Farmer from rajasthan buying agricultural land in gujarat

We are living in Ahmedabad. My wife is a farmer in Rajasthan and we want to buy an agricultural land in her name in Gujarat here.

Is she allowed? I asked few people and they said no. That only farmer in Gujarat can buy agricultural land in Gujarat.

But, in 2012 Gujarat high court had passed a judgement that any farmer from other state in India can buy agricultural land in Gujarat.

Can you please help clarify this for us that what's the status on this right now?

You can purchase agricultural land in guajrat, but the use of that land should be solely for agricultural purpose and not for any other purpose. However you may use that land for other purpose on approval of administrative/revenue authorities, which is much difficult in some cases.
