Employee Comp. Act

Recently W C Act has been amended and it has become Employee Compensation Act. Would like to know Is there any ceiling on wages/salary while computing the comensation in cae of any mishappening.

Computation will be on Gross salary or Basic + DA

Who all are covered now.

The limit is 8000/-

As per ec 4b explanation II has been omitted. Even then limit of Rs 8,000/- applicable or not. Pl comment

As per  new amendment in Sec 4b Explanation II has been omitted. Even then limit of Rs 8,000/- is applicable or not. Below is the copy off amendment.

"(iv) after clause b, Explanation II shall be omitted."

In the light of above pl advise.

The limit has been deleted. Raising and or deleting the limit It might sound outragious but then the rates of minimum wages have gone up. One has to calculate the raes of wages by taking into consideration the Basic + D.A.
