You have asked a very good question. As you yourself mentioned about the 7yr limit beyond which an un-natural death does not fall into S.304B IPC, this could be referred to as the limit to dowry related cases as well.

Having said this, I would like to add that there could be cases of dowry harrassment even after 7yr of marriage. In peculiar cases, a judge could allow registration of cases. Domestic Violence would be a better word if you are talking about cases of married women which they file against whole family of husband. These cases could be filed even after 30yr of marriage.

Exact details must be available in "Limitation Act, 1932".

Dowry Act is an arm for women to compell groom side to obey to her and bend before her family and live like a slave and does all mental & physical cruelty in her matrimonail house for which there is no law and a men who take all responsibilites and provide social, financial & all luxories to his wife is treated as donkey who does not have any value. But our law knowing everything does not act against bride but act against only groom side (groom mother, sister and other female) then where is protection for women. One women is harrassing whole family, spoiling future of childrens. This law is not in favour of women but against Groom family. This Law should be terminated as early as possible to avoid futher casualty and save lakhs of life and childrens future. This law is promoting Crime and extra marital affairs in everyone life. This is law is not saving houses but destroying houses. Today we daily see many cases in newspaper that a men was killed in his In-laws house but there are very few cases where we see a women is killed in her matrimonial house and if they are reason behind them are some thing else.
