Dowry laws

In India too much is expected from laws. One of a eminent judge's opinion is law is just one of the instrument to bring social change. Unless there are changes in society's rigid notions, conceptions, ideas, prospective towards a women, Dowry is going to be a permanent problem which alone law cannot curb. It is only the social awareness and change in socialisations of the girl child along with legal deterrence can bring about a change. 

giving shares of daughters in property of parents would certainly lessen the evil of dowry.

one of the factors behind the origine of dowry system was that it was given in lieu of her share in father's property .

why not husband be given rights in the property of his in laws similar as  wife is given? there should be resiprocative rights based on parity.

What is found today's society is that the Dowry Laws are being encashed; these laws are a sort of bearer cheque; every case is made "DOWRY DEMAND CASE" irrespective of the fact that the status of the party in the society and the actual picture;  To curb the menace; the complainants should submit documents duly ack by their local PO or as perthe Dowlry Prohibition Act is there; then only genuine cases will be there and settlements would also be early
