Documents to check before buying a plot in bangalore city [bbmp]

Hi All,

Please can someone summarize the documents that needs to be checked before buying a plot in Bangalore. The plot we are looking to buy is in the city and we will be buying it from another individual [not a builder or developer]. I have come across "RTC [ Record of Rights, Tenancy and Crops]".   Wanted to know what this document is ? For a residential plot in Bangalore urban, do you have to also check RTC. Or is this only from agriculture land in rural areas. Thank you.

Quick Summary
When purchasing a plot in Bangalore from an individual, several key documents require thorough checking. While RTC (Record of Rights, Tenancy and Crops) is relevant, it's not the only document to consider, especially for urban residential plots. Essential checks include Khata certificates and extracts, tax paid receipts, PTCL endorsements, and land acquisition records. It is highly recommended to seek legal advice from an experienced local lawyer before proceeding with any property transaction.

There are various documents to be verified and the list goes long.

RTC is one of the documents.

You obtain a proper legal opinion from an experienced lawyer in the local and proceed only if recommended.

Your doubts about RTC is just your own anxiety but there are various other aspects to taken care before purchasing an immovable property.
