Do I need to pay stamp duty on all the documents forming a part of a property transaction ?

I want to buy a resale flat in pune maharashtra, and for that I am availing loan facility from NBFC, So do I need to pay stamp duty on Agreement as well as sale deed or only on agreement. and please tell section of the provision for this... please help!

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies stamp duty obligations for property transactions in Pune, Maharashtra. Specifically, it addresses whether stamp duty is payable on both the agreement for sale and the sale deed, or just one. The consensus is that stamp duty and registration fees are payable on the sale deed only, particularly for resale flats where registration is mandatory.

As it is a resale flat, a sale deed must be registered in your favour.  For the agreement of sale, the financial institution may not sanction a loan.

You have to pay stamp duty and registration fee on sale deed only.
