Can anyone clarify that can 'Digital data protection act 2023' is helpful for individual?
I am asking this question because in many shops/restaurants at the time of bill payment they ask for mobile no . Is it really necessary.

Yes. It can protect the individuals, as mentioned in the Art. 2.

There is no compulsion on you to reveal your mobile number to the commercial establishments including hotels, you can very well refuse to divulge with the information. There are many cases come to light about misusing the mobile numbers by certain commercial establishments.
