Devsthan land redevelopment

Hello,

I have recently bought a flat in Pune in society which is 25 years old. While buying this property I considered that in the event of redevelopment in future I will get more area.

Recently I got to know that in 7/12 land is in name of devsthan and hence in future redevelopment cannot be done.

Please help me understand that if this is correct or not, because sole purpose of buying this property was considering the redevelopment in future.

Quick Summary
A flat owner in a 25-year-old Pune society is concerned about future redevelopment after learning the land is registered under 'Devsthan'. They bought the property with redevelopment potential in mind and are seeking clarification on whether this status prevents future redevelopment. Advice suggests the seller's title might be defective, and it's recommended to seek legal opinion or consider selling the property if possible.

Such land cannot be purchased or sold.

If it is confirmed that the land belonged to devasthanam then the seller's title is defective

You may keep away from this property or obtain a proper legal opinion from an experienced lawyer and proceed only when recommended

Thanks for the valuable inputs.

As I already have bought flat in this society, should I continue using it or sell the property.

I bought this property keeping in mind that it will go for redevelopment in few years.

If you have a chance to sell the property, you can very well go ahead instead of keeping it as burden all along your life
