Deponent - affidavit

Dear Sir,

Please can you advice if there is a need to paste photograph for affidavits made by deponent which has to be notarized.

I am required to raise an affidavit and since I am out of India, I would like to avoid the hassel of sending the photograph over the courier as it's an urgent requirement.

looking forward for your advice on this matter.

Regards,
Amit S

As per law, the passport size photiograph of the signatory is required to be collected and maintained in the register of the notary public /oath commissioner. But that practise is usually dispensed off with these days.

Though photograhs are stricty not essential, at some places Notaries insist for the same.  Further, deponent has to be present before the Notary and if you are out of India,  you will not be able to Notarise the same in India without your presence here.
