Delay in payment of fnf

I worked at a pvt firm for 3 months and was terminated after my probation ended. The termination letter stated that I'm entitled to 7 days' severance along with my pending reimbursements. The termination letter also stated that the Full and Final Settlement (FnF) will be done after 90 days from termination. However, more than 120 days have passed and i wrote to the HR about my pending amount. The HR replied that the FnF will be credited to my account in the next financial cycle. Is this legal on their part or should I send notice?

Issue legal notice through a local lawyer for payment of FNF within 15 days failing which proceed as per law.

Just issue a legal notce and claim damages, costs, and interest on the held amount
