Defamation

Dear all, we purchased a house in the year 2001 which has been rented out since it was purchased. We are facing problems with one of the neighbours. 1. She occupied our piece of land to construct a wall without our notice and consent. 1. She keeps on saying that the house does not belong to us. Rather that house has been registered on my mothers name when it was purchased. She is creating chaos and havoc around us. Right now we are planning to file a defamation case on her. Also anyone please suggest whatelse we can do so that she keeps her mouth shut. Thank you

In what specific way is the neighbor creating havoc and chaos?
What defamatory statement is she making? To whom?
It will be easier to assess your situation if you can shed some light on above questions.

Dear Vibha,

Thank you for the reply. I have mentioned the answers in the above mail.

She occupied few yards of our land by constructing a wall wthout our consent.

She s propogating that the house does not belong to us.It did happen once or twice. This has been a continuous process. That is reason we want go for a defamaton case
