Dealing with depression is hard

Dealing With Depression Is Hard

Dealing With Depression Is Hard

People suffering from depression and anxiety find it extremely hard to reach out for help, which is the first step towards their recovery. They would ideally need to enlist the support of family members, friends or a health professional. This wonderful cartoon by artist Colleen Butters, demonstrates the importance of taking that first step in reaching out for help.

Geeta,

Depression is a disease just like any other disease.   It can be treated and you can be noral and happy again if you have courage to get treatment.

There are two main types of treatments; First ,psychotherapy ,also called talk thearapy where you talk to a professional psychologist about your emotions and thoughts and find solutions to your problems.

Second, use of Anti-Depression medicines. These medicines restore the chemical imbalance in you brain and improve your mood, energy and sleep. They make you happier and motivated just like the way you used to be before depression hit you.  There are dozens of anti- depression medicines and a psychiatrist can reverse your depression by prescribing you such medicines.

\It is a sad fact that in India ,most people are ignorant about mental disorders and keep suffering from them without getting treatment.
