Cross examination on election day

Can a court ask an accused (out on bail) to come and cross question a witness on the day of election. Witness is Delhi based while court is in Uttarakhand. While giving date court was informed that elections are due on that particular date still date was given for election day. Travel time is more than 7 hours, it is also not possible to travel after casting vote.
