Court take any action for those not appearing on Hearings?

Hi Experts, Does Courts(Family Courts) take any action on those who dont attend the court on the hearing dates? Also If one do not attend the High Court date? Its obvious that People dont accept summons due to some or other reason and avoid coming to court.. Is this considered as a contempt of court? Are there seperate penalties for Trial And High Court Contempts?

Court will give another date to appear on next date by considering their any difficulty.

If person absent without any sufficient cause then court put ex partee decree.
