Correction of name in the property document

My grandfather bequeathed property in my name as K.S.Kuppusamy and I am the only legal owner of the said property. As per school, college, office and other records my name is spelt as K.S.Kuppan.  If I want to sell the property, is it necessary to have a legal document / certificate showing that K.S.Kuppusamy and K.S.Kuppan are one and the same.   If so, what are the procedures to be followed to get such certificate.

Quick Summary
A property owner is seeking advice on how to proceed with selling a property bequeathed in the name K.S.Kuppusamy, when their official records show the name as K.S.Kuppan. They need to know if a legal document is required to prove both names refer to the same individual and what the process entails. The initial suggestion involves an affidavit and newspaper publication, leading to a follow-up question about filing the affidavit with a court or directly through a lawyer.

You prepare an affidavit declaring that both the names are one and the same and get it published in newspaper.

Keep the copies along with the property documents which will be sufficient to prove the genuineness.

Thanks for the response. Whether Affidavit is to be filed before any court of law and before which court? Or else affidavit can be published directly in newspapers through a Lawyer.
