Is it legal to copy court judgments?

Please visit 'eastern book company' site or SCC  from search engine. there u will find answer to ur question.  There can b no copyright of judgment, but the way of reporting is copy right.l

Court judgements are like public documents. Copy right Act does not apply to them. However, the head notes, short notes published along with the judgements are copyrighted material, being intellectual property.

The way of expressing is copyrightable. eventhough the court judgements are public documents ther is some way of expressingit. So as a, news one can Quote a judgement and should disclose the source.
