Dear Sir,

Case contested means that when a case is filed, the opposite party appears before the court and contests the claim of the complainant/plaintiff and puts forth their counter claims.

Case dismissed, on the other hand, refers to when a judge dismisses a case against someone, usually because there is no enough evidence for the case to continue.

Hope this is clear.

Regards,

Dear Sir, As per my understanding, it means both the parties duly contested the case and on merits, it stands dismissed. If the status of the case shows shows-contested-dismissed it means the case is dismissed when the process is complete i.e. the suit is filed and the defendant has appeared, evidence is produced by parties arguments are heard then the has court pronounced it's decision I.e. dismissed. Hope this helps Regards
