Cheque

3 months back I got cheque of Rs 10 lack and cheque expirey date is upcoming 30 July 2018. so can I legally go after cheque expirey aur else I have to submitted in bank before 30 July 2018 (cheque bounce for legal process). he is saying... he will give payment next week. but I think he is waiting for cheque expirey.

As per RBI guidelines, with effect from April 1, 2012, the validity period of Cheques, Demand Drafts, Pay Orders and Banker's Cheques will be reduced from 6 monthsto 3 months, from the date of issue of the instrument.Deposit the cheque immediately after informing to party in writing.If cheque bounce, you have to intimate through a notice to the party within 15 days from the bounced date.

Yes,present the cheque for encashment immediately and don't wait it's expiry date. If cheque return unpaid initiate pr�ceedings under the sec 138 of N.I.Act.

You have not indicated as to what for you received the Rs. 10 lakh cheque?
