charge for A grade rank

dear sir my relative works in horticulture department of Punjab on the post of sub inspector. this post is C grade post. But his senior officer gives him the charge of horticulture development officer, that is A grade officer rank . is it legal to take A charge of A grade rank. can a C grade employee takes a charge for A grade post? please tell.

That would for time being,and that is not illegal.

The department is liberty to place any officer to officiate as a temporay arrangement. In buraucratic set up it is not unusual and expected to abide by orders.

Ji, due to administration exgencies, the appointing authority can issue such orders and hence not illegal.
