Change in agreement of sale

Hi,

I and my wife are planning to buy a house. I and seller have created agreement of sale and paid the stamp duty. But we have not yet registered it. We shall do it in a coule of days time.

My question is, now I want to add a small text to my wife's name who is also the joint holder. (eg, XYZ is married to Sanjay ABC) on the front page. How can I achieve this?

Is it OK if I write it by hand and then sign it. Of course, the seller will also sign on this ammendment.

Or I will have to create new agreement and pay the whole stamp duty again?

Please guide me.

It is very simple, if document is frank but not registered you may add your wife as a co-owner in the property by way of adding through pain writting in original but need to sign in front of registrar by both of you and if document is registed one, make additional agreement which will be read with original one and registered it.
