Cash for votes scam: amar singh's bail hearing deferred till

A Delhi court today deferred hearing on Rajya Sabha MP and former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh's interim bail application till September 12.

The hearing was deferred after the Jail Superintendent, Tihar informed the court of Special CBI judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal that the report of urine and blood samples could be available only by Saturday.

Amar Singh after being taken into custody had, earlier, applied for an interim bail on medical grounds.

The court had directed the Tihar jail authorities to produce medical reports of the Rajya Sabha MP.

Amar Singh and two former BJP MPs Faggan Singh Kulaste and Mahavir Singh Bhagora were remanded to judicial custody till September 19 by the Judge on September 6 for their alleged involvement in the sensational cash-for-vote scam during the July 2008 trust vote in Parliament in the wake of the Indo-US nuclear deal.
