Can property of husband, which wife got on death of husband, be willed by the wife?

Dear club,

Does the wife have the right to make a will of the self acquired property of the deceased husband under Hindu Laws in India?

Please note that the husband acquired by the party and after his death, the wife got such property as a class 1 heir.

That property in wife name is absolute and therefore she has right to make a Will for the same.

Mutation has to be done after death of husband. After mutation she will have rights on the husband property. The mutation is done for the purpose of paying property tax to the government, and transfer of the property to the new owner. The mutation also adds evidentiary value to the property in case any dispute arises

Dear Mr. Veddant,

Since wife becomes legal heir of Class I, so she can make her will of husband's self acquired property as well but only if husband's mother also died.
