Can officers association seek promotion list thro rti ?

Dear Sir,

We are working as senior managers in a central PSU Based in Bangalore.
Our CMD CONDUCTED A Promotion interview one & half year back. With no proper understanding between functional directors and CMD, promotion list was not released.CMD again conducted one more promotion interview with independent directors in the interview committee. Now 6 months later also, second interview list is also not released.
Can we seek information on the promotion list from management thro RTI.PLEASE CLARIFY,If not so, please advice us.Other wise can our officers association can seek the same information thro RTI from management instead of an individual officer seeking the same ?

Thanks in advance

nath k s

U have a fair right to know how things are happening.

If management does not want to answer, they will take shelter under some clause, otherwise u will get everything which u all intend to know.

RTI act is meant for an individual as a citizen of India.

Any individual as a citizen of India may ask for record including certified copies from a public authority.

Unless and until the matter is under process they can deny information.

Even Associations ask information under RTI and is provided.

RTI is meant for providing photocopies of the recorded information which is already available in files. So what has happened in written manner will be provided and if nothing has happened nothing can be provided.
