Can io punished for unnecessary filling of cs

Hi It is although the very purpose of investigation to acertain the facts and submit a Charge-Sheet or Closure-Report. But unfortunately courts never take a stern view of useless charge-sheets even when they know that case is false. So I/Os conventionally file charge-sheet even if the case is not made out. There is immense need to change the law and bring changes which are apt for today's generation. But on date, nothing much you can do regarding an I/O filing CS in place of Closure-Report. //peace /Saurabh..V
