Can employer rolled back appraisal salary after resignation?

Hi

I joined the company in December 2018 and put resignation in July 2022 after serving 3.5+ years. As per the company's appointment letter I can't leave the company before 3 years. So I have fulfilled that term.  But in April 2022 appraisal letter company mentioned that you agree to continue for the next 12 months with the company. Now, I have to leave this company due to the late-night shift problem but there are telling me that I have to give back my appraisal salary. They have not mentioned the penalty if I am not continuing it for the next 12 months. Can my company roll back the appraisal salary? Please guide me

Quick Summary
An employee resigned after serving 3.5 years, fulfilling a minimum 3-year commitment. However, their April appraisal letter included a clause requiring them to commit to another 12 months. The employer is now demanding the appraisal salary back due to the resignation. This discussion seeks guidance on whether an employer can legally roll back an appraisal salary in such circumstances, especially when no penalty for early departure was specified.
