Dear All,
Our Company is a MSME organisation. So do we need to do (BIS) Bureau of Indian Standard registration?

BIS / CRS registration is required for power adaptors for IT equipments that are imported or manufactured in India. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) introduced the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) in 2012 to ensure that electronic products sold in India meet certain safety and quality standards.

BIS Certification India or BIS Registration issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) ensure the quality, safety and reliability of products in accordance with Indian Standards (IS).

Any organization engaged in providing manufacture, assembly or service, having legal entity in India or abroad can apply with the documents authenticating name and address of the organization.

BIS certification scheme is basically voluntary in nature.

However, for a number of products compliance to Indian Standards is made compulsory by the Central Government under various considerations viz. public interest, protection of human, animal or plant health, safety of environment, prevention of unfair trade practices and national security.

For such products, the Central Government directs mandatory use of Standard Mark under a Licence or Certificate of Conformity (CoC) from BIS through issuance of QCOs
