Bank account for co. op. housing society

You can open at any bank as per the customer wishes. Better to open at local area where the society office resides.

The principal society account of society-promoters statutorily need to be opened in co-operative bank only as per MCS Act,1960 but any additional society accounts can be opened in any other non-co-opertve bank subject to the prior approval of the society Registrar.
