Undue delay in declaration of examination result is obviously deficiency in service: Refer the case of : Secxretary, Board of School education Hrayana vs Mukesh Chand:1994 (1) CPR 269. Student is a consumer of service of educational institute. Sushant yuvaraj Rode Vs Ramdeobaba Enginerring College : 1993 (III) CPR 624.

After recent Apex Court and NCDRC  judgements only certain areas pertaining to service rendered by educational institutions are coming under the purview of Consumer Protection Act.
