Appointment Letter

Please let me know whether there is any specific law which specifies the terms and conditions to be included in an appointment letter ?

There is no specific law regarding performa of an appointment letter. Some labour legislations provide for issuance of an appointment letter. It is useful from employer's point of view to issue an appointment letter.

Nowadays it is better for the employees to receive the appointment letter.No specific law for that.but some formats are available

i heard hr people r using some legal format  and rules for issuing appointment letter

The format and the clauses to be incorporated in an appointment order depends on the company`s model / certified standing orders.


As far as I know, there is no law governing this.
