They are business concern. Can they resort to Consumer Protection Act 2019?

No, purchaser has purchased the power grinder for commercial purpose so purchaser  can not invoke the provisions of Consumer protection Act  2019 and his complaint is liable to be dismissed on said ground.

Sec 2[1][d] gives definitions of consumer

Then under which act, this buyer can demand compensation

T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Advocate)     26 October 2023

The commercial buyer cannot approach consumer commission for deficiency in service.

If the product is defective then he can assess the damage and file a recovery suit in the civil court provided it is not due to the wear and tear.
