Alienation of share in the property.

Dear learned gentlemen,

Namaskara,

A Husband and Wife had purchased a plot of land of about 1200 Sq.Ft.   by contributing their own money (may not be in equal proportion).   The Absolute Sale Deed was registered  in  both their names in 2008.  Now if one of them wants to sell his/her  share, i.e. 50% share, right, title and interest in the property, can he or she do so without the consent or intervention  of the other party or co-owrner ?

thanking you
